If you’re looking for a breakfast spot in Newcastle with stunning views and a seriously impressive buffet, look no further than Roundhouse at the Crystalbrook Kingsley hotel. Perched high up on the ninth floor, this place is all about relaxed luxury and good vibes.

For my birthday, I decided to take myself out on a breakky date before spending the rest of the afternoon with my family. I have always, ALWAYS been a breakfast buffet gal – I think it’s one of the greatest gifts to mankind – and knew I wanted to treat myself to one. Newcastle doesn’t have a lot of hotels or buffets as compared to the bigger cities so it was a bit easier to find one. After some research, I went with Roundhouse inside the luxury boutique hotel Crystalbrook Kingsley.

Going there They don’t have public parking for those who aren’t checked in, so you may want to go earlier to be able to get good street parking.

Laid-Back Luxury Walking into Roundhouse, the first thing you notice is the breathtaking view of Newcastle. Whether you grab a table by the window or sit further inside, the atmosphere is airy and welcoming, with a touch of sophistication that makes it feel like a special treat.. The high ceilings make the space even more spacious than it already is, couple with a lot of seating choices – from a solo breakky to a girls’ brunch, they have you covered.

The Buffet Spread Now, let’s talk food. The buffet at Roundhouse is a feast for both the eyes and the stomach. It’s a mix of local flavors and international breakfast favorites, so there’s something for everyone, no matter what you’re craving.

For those who like to keep it light in the morning, you’ve got plenty of fresh fruits, creamy yogurts, and house-made granola to choose from. There’s even a smoothie station where you can get your hands on some freshly blended goodness. And the fresh juices? Seriously refreshing.

But if you’re more about a hearty breakfast in Newcastle, you’re in luck. The hot food section is where it’s at. Think fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, roasted tomatoes, and sautéed mushrooms—all the classic brekkie staples. My personal favourite were the sauteed mushrooms. I don’t know what they did but it was sooo savoury and delicious.

And don’t even get me started on the bread and pastries. The croissants are buttery, the sourdough is perfectly crusty, and the Danish pastries? Pure bliss.

Service with a Smile The staff at Roundhouse really know how to make you feel welcome. They’re super friendly and always around when you need them, whether it’s for a coffee top-up or a quick chat about the food. They have an open kitchen that sees through the main buffet area, which makes eating more experiential.

Final Thoughts Roundhouse’s breakfast buffet in Newcastle is the perfect way to kick off your day. It’s got everything you need to fuel up, whether you’re exploring Newcastle or just treating yourself to a laid-back morning. The food is fresh, the vibes are chill, and the view? Absolutely worth it. So, if you’re in town, make sure to check it out—you won’t regret it.
